Scott Riggs, Jason Riggs, and Kevin Cole all invaded the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida last weekend (December 12-13) for the annual running of the 'Crate Late Model World Championship.' The facility known as the "Clay by the Bay" hosted the Crate Late Model mega-event, which boasted a $10,000 top prize. Scott and Jason unfortunately could not make their way into the 100-lap main event, but Kevin was fortunate enough to find his name listed among the starters.

The Christopher, Illinois native was eighth quickest in his group during time trials on Friday night and later ran fourth in his competitive heat race. When the dirt-slinging action continued on Saturday at the Tampa area venue, Kevin ran third in his B-Main to earn the twenty-fourth starting spot for the 'Crate Late Model World Championship.' The Riggs Motorsports team officially wrapped up their version of the 2008 racing season from October 23-25 at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky. A trio of $2,500 to win events were scheduled last weekend at KLMS. Unfortunately, night one of the three race weekend was won by Mother Nature on Thursday, but Friday and Saturday's program went off without a hitch.

Kevin Cole was strong throughout the weekend, as he finished seventh in the final rundown on Friday and ninth on Saturday. Jason Riggs unfortunately failed to transfer into Friday's main event, while he wound up being credited for an eighteenth place performance on Saturday. After several weekends away from the racetrack, the Riggs Motorsports team was back in action on October 3-4 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The annual 'Moser UMP Nationals' was on tap at the "Big E" and a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs. Unfortunately, both Kevin Cole and Jason Riggs were unable to make their way into the starting field for the UMP DIRTcar Series finale. Kevin finished seventh in his heat race and fifth in his B-Main, while Jason ran ninth in his heat race and eighth in his last chance event.
