Back in Victory Lane at Federated Raceway at I-55!
(May
19, 2013) Randy Korte and the Riggs Motorsports team
celebrated in victory lane for the second time in 2013 on Saturday
night, May 18 at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri!
After finishing third in his heat race, Randy started the weekly
UMP DIRTcar Series feature event from the outside of the front
row. The Highland, Illinois standout then wheeled his #81k Rocket
entry to the $1,000 victory over Michael Kloos, Brian Diveley,
Scott Weber, and Jason McBride!
Earlier in the weekend, Randy competed in main events at the
Charleston Speedway in Charleston, Illinois and the Tri-City Speedway
in Granite City, Illinois. The popular driver known as "King
Kong" finished eighth in a $2,000 to win American Late Model
Series show on Thursday at Charleston, while he suffered rear
suspension problems in a weekly event at Granite City on Friday,
which led to a disappointing nineteenth place performance. Full

Randy Korte Tenth in
Spring Shootout at LaSalle Speedway
(May
12, 2013) Both Jason Riggs and Randy Korte ventured
to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on May 10-11 for
the annual running of the 'Spring Shootout.' The Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series presided over the action at the 1/4-mile bullring
and a pair of $10,000 top prizes were on the line. Following a
rain-out on Friday night, Saturday's clash went off without a
hitch.
Randy laid down the quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying
session and later placed second in his loaded heat race. After
starting the 50-lap main event from the outside of the third row,
Randy wound up tenth in the final rundown of the caution-free
affair. Jason was unfortunately not able to transfer into the
'Spring Shootout' feature after finishing ninth in his heat race
and eleventh in his B-Main. Full results from LaSalle can be viewed

(May 4, 2013) Riggs Motorsports was scheduled
to follow the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to the Tri-City
Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Paducah International
Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on May 3-4. Unfortunately, Mother
Nature took the win in both $10,000 to win programs...
Randy Korte Claims First
Win for Riggs Motorsports in '13
(April 28, 2013) Randy Korte returned to racing
action in his home state of Illinois over the April 26-27 weekend
and scored the first win for the Riggs Motorsports team in 2013!
On Saturday night at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois,
Randy laid down the quickest lap in his group during the qualifying
session and later took the win in his heat race. The Highland,
Illinois ace then grabbed the lead late in the UMP main event
to score the $1,200 triumph over Kevin Weaver, Jay Morris, Rich
Bell, and Scott Schmitt.
Earlier in the weekend, Randy was in competition on Friday evening
at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The 'Douglas
Dodge 50' boasted a $5,000 winner's check at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds
complex. Randy posted the eighteenth fastest lap during time trials
and later ran fourth in heat race action. The popular driver known
as "King Kong" wound up retiring early from the 50-lapper
and was credited with a sixteenth place performance. Full results
from both races can be viewed online at www.lasallespeedway.com

Riggs Motorsports Tackles
NDRL Opening Events
(April
14, 2013) Jason Riggs and Randy Korte represented the
Riggs Motorsports team over the April 12-13 weekend in the opening
events of the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL). On Friday night,
both drivers were in the pit area at the Paducah International
Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky to vie for the $20,000 top prize.
Jason ran sixth in heat race action and then opted to load up
his #81jr ride prior to the B-Main due to the rough track conditions.
Randy finished fifth in his heat race and fourth in his B-Main,
which narrowly kept him out of the 75-lapper.
On Saturday evening, Randy was the lone Riggs Motorsports driver
to tackle another $20,000 to win NDRL extravaganza at the Federated
Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Randy timed in fourteenth
fastest overall prior to finishing fifth in his heat race and
seventh in his B-Main. After receiving a provisional to gain access
into the 75-lap main event, the Highland, Illinois ace completed
37 circuits in the A-Main and wound up twenty-second in the final
rundown. Full results from the doubleheader weekend can be viewed
online at www.thendrl.com.
Podium Finishes for Riggs
Motorsports Over Weekend!
(April 7, 2013) The Riggs Motorsports team rolled
into the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on
Friday, April 5 for a $1,200 to win UMP program. Jason Riggs ran
third in his heat race and later started the feature event from
the outside of the second row. The Harrisburg, Illinois driver
drove up to as high as second and was challenging for the lead
when his oil line came off, which caused his car to smoke badly.
Jason eventually crossed the finish line in the third spot behind
only winner Terry English and runner-up Randy Korte.
Randy also wheeled a Riggs Motorsports entry at PIR as a teammate
to Jason Riggs. The Highland, Illinois ace won his heat race in
preliminary action prior to claiming the runner-up effort behind
English. Randy was once again behind the wheel of a #81k entry
on Saturday evening, April 6 at the Federated Raceway at I-55
in Pevely, Missouri. After finishing third in his heat race, Randy
racked up another second place performance behind only victor
Tim Ratajczyk. Complete results from these two shows can be viewed
online at www.paducahracing.com
and www.i55raceway.com.
Wet Weather Wipes Out
NDRL Weekend...
(March
30, 2013) Jason Riggs was scheduled to kick off the
inaugural National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) schedule this weekend
(March 29-30) in the states of Kentucky and Missouri. Unfortunately,
Mother Nature had other ideas and the pair of $20,000 to win extravaganzas
at Paducah International Raceway and Federated Raceway at I-55
were wiped out due to inclement weather.
Riggs Enters Tuckasee
Toilet Bowl Classic at Clarksville
(March
10, 2013) For the first time since the completion of
the 'DART Winternationals,' the Riggs Motorsports team returned
to Dirt Late Model competition over the March 8-9 weekend at the
Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. The 9th Annual
'Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic' was held at the Volunteer State
oval and the MARS DIRTcar Series once again presided over the
two-day show. A strong field of 43 competitors piled into the
Clarksville pit area to vie for the $3,000 top prize on Friday
and the $5,000 winner's check on Saturday.
Unfortunately, Jason Riggs was unable to transfer his #81jr into
the main event on both Friday and Saturday. In the 'Toilet Bowl
Classic' lid lifter, Jason finished sixth in his heat race prior
to winding up third in his B-Main, which was one mere spot away
from a transfer position into the 30-lap feature. In Saturday's
weekend finale, Jason was ninth in his heat race before scratching
from his B-Main. You can view complete results from Clarksville
by pointing your web browser to www.clarksvillespeedway.com.
