Brandon Overton rallies to 12th in Firecracker 100
Brandon Overton’s rain-impacted weekend got underway Saturday afternoon at Pennsylvania’s Lernerville Speedway, where persistent weather prompted Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) officials to condense the 19th annual Firecracker 100 into a single-day program.
Among 52 entries, Overton locked into the $50,000-to-win main event with a runner-up finish in his heat race. Rolling off seventh in the 100-lap finale, Overton was forced to tag the tail of the field after getting spun around in turn four on lap 44.
Despite the setback, he rebounded to salvage a 12th-place finish by the checkered flag.
Brandon is currently seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
