Top-10 finish in World Finals at Charlotte
Brandon Overton and the Riggs Motorsports Longhorn Factory Team headed to The Dirt Track at Charlotte this past week as the pristine facility hosted the 19th annual World Finals.
With Wednesday’s qualifying sessions setting the stage for the remainder of the event, Overton timed in fourth-fastest in his group for Thursday’s program before posting the ninth-quickest lap in the second group for Friday.
He opened preliminary action on Thursday with a 10th-place finish, then recorded an 18th-place result in Friday’s 35-lap feature.
On Saturday, Overton secured his spot in the $25,000-to-win finale by capturing one of the two dash victories. He closed out the weekend with a solid seventh-place finish, advancing three positions after starting on the fifth row of the 50-lap main event.
