Overton cracks top-10 in Sunshine Nationals finale
The 2026 season officially got underway for Brandon Overton this past weekend as he unloaded the Riggs Motorsports / Budweiser No. 76 Late Model at Volusia Speedway Park for the seventh annual Sunshine Nationals.
With preliminary features on tap Thursday and Friday, Overton turned in consistent runs, finishing 12th in Thursday’s opener and one spot back in 13th on Friday.
On Saturday, Overton raced his way into the $20,000-to-win Sunshine Nationals finale with a heat race victory. He went on to record his strongest result of the weekend in the 50-lap main event, crossing the line eighth.
