Brandon Overton enjoys strong start to Lucas Oil campaign at All-Tech

Brandon Overton’s pursuit of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) championship officially began this past weekend with the Wieland Winternationals at Florida's All-Tech Raceway.

With three consecutive nights of competition on tap, Overton set the tone early. He topped his time trial group on Thursday and followed it up with a heat race victory before finishing fourth in the evening’s feature.

On Friday, Overton slipped back two positions in his heat race but rebounded in impressive fashion during the 40-lap main event, charging forward seven spots to secure a third-place finish.

The Evans, Georgia native continued his upward trajectory in Saturday’s finale, delivering a runner-up performance in the $20,000-to-win feature. He joined race winner Hudson O’Neal and third-place finisher Clay Harris on the podium.

Following the strong weekend, Overton departs All-Tech Raceway as the early leader in the LOLMDS championship standings.
