Overton caps Wieland Winternationals with Top-5 at Golden Isles
Brandon Overton unloaded the Riggs Motorsports No. 76 Late Model in his home state of Georgia this past weekend as Golden Isles Speedway hosted the final leg of the Wieland Winternationals.
Overton opened the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event with a 10th-place finish in Wednesday’s feature before turning in his best performance of the week on Thursday. Piloting his Budweiser-branded entry, he secured a third-place finish in the 40-lap main event, joining Jonathan Davenport and Hudson O’Neal on the podium.
Following a steady 13th-place result on Friday, Overton closed out the Wieland Winternationals with a strong fifth-place finish in Saturday’s $25,000-to-win finale.
Overton currently sits third in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
