Overton finishes third in Buckeye Spring 50 at Atomic Speedway
With Friday’s scheduled event pushed to Sunday due to weather, Riggs Motorsports driver Brandon Overton opened his weekend Saturday at Brownstown Speedway with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).
After transferring into the $25,000-to-win Indiana Icebreaker A-Main through his heat, Overton recorded a sixth-place finish in the 50-lap event.
The team shifted to Atomic Speedway in Ohio on Sunday, where Overton followed up a heat race victory with a third-place finish in the Buckeye Spring 50, joining race-winner Ricky Thornton Jr. and runner-up Brandon Sheppard on the podium.
Overton currently sits third in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
