Brandon Overton Tops LOLMDS at Circle City Raceway; Illinois Speedweek Up Next
Gearing Up for Five Consecutive Nights of Racing
EVANS, Ga. (05/05/25) – Brandon Overton shook off a recent streak of misfortune on Friday night, powering to his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) victory of the season during the tour’s inaugural visit to Circle City Raceway aboard his Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. / Coltman Farms Racing No. 76 Clements Racing Engine / Longhorn Chassis Late Model.
The $15,000 triumph at the Indianapolis, Indiana oval marked Overton’s third victory of the season and the 19th of his career with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
"Man, we've been fast. Like we just cannot catch a break," Overton said. "Like four weekends in a row we've been leading races and something happens, so I figured sooner or later something would go my way."
Overton’s opened his weekend with a dominant performance Friday night at Circle City Raceway, where the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series was set to launch a two-night swing.
The Evans, Georgia native set the tone early by topping the 27-car field in time trials before charging to a heat race win. He carried that momentum into the feature, leading all 50 laps en route to a dominant flag-to-flag victory worth $15,000 — his third triumph of the season.
Overton crossed the finish line ahead of Devin Moran and Hudson O’Neal to secure his 19th career LOLMDS victory.
When Saturday’s Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) was canceled due to an unfavorable weather forecast, Overton and the Longhorn Factory Team shifted gears and traveled more than 500 miles overnight to Mississippi Thunder Speedway for the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series-sanctioned Dairyland Showdown.
Building off Friday’s momentum, Brandon followed up a heat race win with a third-place finish in the $30,000-to-win finale at the Wisconsin oval.
