Brandon Overton Wins National 100 opener at East Alabama

EVANS, Ga. (11/04/25) – Two-time National 100 winner Brandon Overton continued his success at East Alabama Motor Speedway this past weekend, collecting a preliminary victory during the 52nd running of the storied event.

Overton seized control of Friday’s 30-lap opener on lap 18 and powered his Longhorn Factory Team / Coltman Farms Racing No. 76 Late Model to his fourth win of the 2025 season, pocketing a $5,000 payday.

“It’s a nice way to start the weekend,” Overton said after the victory. “Big thanks to [crew chief] Burroughs, Ryder, and all the guys back at the Longhorn shop — couldn’t do it without them. We will see if we can get them the next two nights."

Overton began Friday’s program by finishing second to Tyler Erb in his heat race. In the feature, however, the Evans, Georgia native reversed the script, tracking down the Texas driver with 12 laps remaining, en route to the 30-lap victory.

In Saturday’s 35-lap preliminary, Overton initially crossed the line third, but was elevated to second after the original winner was disqualified for being light at the scales.

Hopes of a third National 100 title for Overton came to an unfortunate end in Sunday’s $30,000-to-win finale. Starting from the pole in the 100-lap feature, the Evans, Georgia native led the opening dozen circuits before mechanical issues forced him to retire with fluid leaking from his No. 76 entry.

Overton will now turn his attention to the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.), which kicks off Wednesday. Time trials open the event, followed by twin preliminary features on Thursday and Friday, leading up to Saturday’s $25,000-to-win finale.
